Hello everyone, we hope this website has been helpful in getting everything ready for your trip to Islamorada. It is hard to believe the wedding is only 2 short months away. When we got engaged in December of 2008 it seemed like we had all the time in the world to plan this wedding. Lately we have been busy finishing some of the final touches for our trip and are definitely ready for the big day! Can't wait to see everyone! Happy travels.

Friday Night Festivities

Since we will not be having a rehearsal we have decided to have a Friday night celebration for all of our guests to get to know each other. We will be having a dinner hosted by the 3 M's. For those of you who don't know them that is Chris's Mom (Laura), Marsha, and Mimi. It will be a fun night with live music, good food, and great company, just a little informal gathering to get to know all the wedding guests. If you'll be in Islamorda Friday night please plan on joining.

Shelter, aka Hotel Reservations

Here is some information to help you book your hotel.

The Chesapeake Beach Resort @ Mile Marker 83 is the hotel where we will be staying and where the wedding will be held (http://www.chesapeake-resort.com/, 1-800-338-3395). When you call to book your room make sure to say you are with the Lusso/Briggs Wedding.

Chesapeake has given us a 10% discount on a block of rooms we have reserved or any other room that is still available during the wedding time frame. The 3 types of rooms available at the discounted rate in our block are:

Standard Garden View Room with 2 double beds ~ $216.00
Deluxe Oceanfront with 2 double beds ~ $261.00
Premium Oceanfront with king bed ~ $288.00

Chesapeake has also made the $18/day resort fee optional which entitles guests to continental breakfast, bottled water, newspaper delivered daily, and use of the non-motorized activities such as kayaks, paddleboats, bicycles, sailboats, etc. in case you are interested in using these amenities.

When you book your hotel room they will charge your credit card for 1 night as a means to hold the room. This is non-refundable if the room is not canceled 30 days before you arrive. Please remember we are getting married during the peak travel season for the Florida Keys so once the rooms in the block are reserved there may not be any more rooms available at the hotel.

In case you are looking for something different or a little less expensive here are two other hotel options we recommend:

1. The Islander Resort @ Mile Marker 82.1
http://www.islanderfloridakeys.com/ , 1-800-753-6002

~ Rooms range from $215-$460 (plus tax)

2. The Drop Anchor Resort & Marina @ Mile Marker 85
http://www.dropanchorresort.com/, 1-888-664-4863

~ Rooms range from $129-$219 (plus tax) FYI ~ This hotel only has 18 rooms so if you would like to stay here we would suggest booking ASAP.
